Best practice workshop on Investor Development programmes for city regions, Quebec, 26 January An intensive workshop for a team which is placing new emphasis on investor development. The programme included modules on: understanding of the drivers of reinvestment and disinvestment in local economies; key principles and objectives of investor development; how to create economic value through investor development; the strategy and practical steps in investor development; how to deliver service, support to existing investors; best practice approaches to investor account management – examples from other regions; generating new leads and more investment from investor development; target setting systems, services and reporting on investor development. Website and e-marketing workshop for city regions, Quebec, 27 January Workshop on investor aftercare and export oriented FDI. A training workshop for the Centre of Promotion for Investment (CPI) in Mozambique. An UNCTAD programme. Specialist modules and exclusive expert sessions were delivered on identifying, attracting, keeping and developing direct investment. The programme also featured modules on enterprise development, supplier development and linkages programmes, delivered by experts with hands on experience in private and public sector programmes.

Global Best Practices Performance Programme, London, November 13th A thorough review of best practice in the handling of foreign investment opportunities and promoting for investment in a competitive environment and professional handling of foreign investment opportunities. Focus was placed on practical steps to further develop agencies’ promotional approaches, to become more competitive, client oriented and ultimately more successful. Covered a range of advanced strategies suitable for implementation. The programme provided attendants with a true understanding of the issues and the ability to apply these strategies. Specialist modules and exclusive expert sessions on identifying, attracting, keeping and developing direct investment. The programme took an integrated approach to all the elements required for succeeding in FDI attraction and was developed by experts with hands on investment promotion experience, with both private and public sector backgrounds.
This programme helped agencies to make the most out of their marketing budgets. Attendants improved their understanding of the essentials of E-marketing and received practical advice and methods to implement E-marketing in their organisations.
Southern Africa International Investment Promotion Programme, East London, Eastern Cape, SA, July14th - 16th Held at the East London IDZ offices, this very succesful programme welcomed over 30 delegates from different countries in the SADC region. It is a specifically designed intensive programme that comprises multiple information sessions, interactive team activities, advanced online course materials and personal/team coaching sessions. A 3 day intensive programme, specifically designed for Invest North West (INW), Free State Agency (FIPA) and Trade and Invest Limpopo (TIL). The capacity building seminar focused on regional cooperation and best practices. |
